AI Presentations Reflections - Lisa Marcos

Lisa Marcos   SPC 2608   Professor Sherri Sinkoff   November 7, 2023             In our SPC 2608 class, we presented our research on the effects of Artificial Intelligence in our world and in certain areas such as mental health, economy, education, sports, social life, entertainment, and potential careers. As AI technology has become an important advancement in current day, it does affect the world. As group 1 presented AI in the education and sports area, we learned incredible information on how AI has made education more accessible for students and can help assist them if there need any help regarding a subject. Ai can also give them information that can help students learn wherever they are. There are some risk factors however, such as students may grow a dependency on the AI and could prevent the students from performance well. This section of group 1 presentation really helped me understand that AI in education can be a great...

AI Presentations Reflection (Leslie Iglesias)

AI Presentations Reflection (Leslie Iglesias) Group 1      Group one’s presentation on the use of AI in education and sports is very interesting because those are two areas that I did not think could be impacted by AI. Throughout this presentation, it becomes clear that AI can have an effect on nearly every area of life. I think group one does a great job presenting the uses, pros and cons of AI in their chosen topics by using slides with bullet points that are easy to read and interesting information that is concise yet comprehensive. As a student, their information on AI’s impact in education is important for me to know. I learned that although the use of AI in education can cause a dependency on technology amongst both teachers and students, AI is also beneficial when it comes to learning, teaching, and tutoring. Group one’s information on AI use in sports is also important; while it does not affect me directly, the use of AI in sports is revolutionary. It can create g...

AI Presentations- Juliet Rodriguez

AI Presentations  Hi, I'm Juliet Rodriguez and in my public speaking class, we presented different topics regarding AI. The topics that were talked about in reference to AI are social life, entertainment, economy, mental health, education, and sports. Each group had to say: how these topics on AI related to the world now?, what things the government is doing to assist with these issues?, what suggestions we have for the government regarding AI and these topics?,  how is Florida specifically handling these topics?, and what we would like Miami Dade College to do to help navigate these new tools.    I will be discussing what I've learned from my fellow classmates' presentations on AI.     The first group that presented discussed AI in regards to the entertainment industry but also social life. These are great topics to talk about in reference to AI. The first thing...

AI Presentations-Kristina Dimitrova

During the speech class, the students were divided into three groups and assigned to deliver their second presentation on "What AI Can Do for Me".." Each group explored a variety of sub-topics, such as mental health, Economy, sports, potential careers, and social life activities. Group one specifically focused on AI in education and sports, and they kicked off their presentation by highlighting the positive and lousy impact AI has had on teaching in recent years. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, AI has played a crucial role in improving the accessibility and effectiveness of remote education. Still, on the contrary, an overreliance on AI can lead to students using AI programs for work assignments. Also, AI tools are constantly evolving. They lack the human emotions necessary for effective teaching and learning. More problems that AI can pose have been mentioned, such as bias and discrimination, where AI algorithms may reflect prejudices and stereotypes, over-dependence on...

Jorge Guerra Blog #2: Reflection on the A.I. Presentations

Hello again! I am Jorge Guerra and I shall be discussing the A.I. presentations. Like last time I will go through each group, discussing what I think each group did well in their presentations. Then I will discuss how each group did with presenting, mentioning a few people by name. Once I have gone over the groups I will discuss the class leaders, then how I felt about the presentations as a whole. Before I begin, I will be mentioning things I believe could have been done differently but I will only do so with the intention of being helpful and I overall believe the presentations for all three groups are better than the previous presentations.   Group 3 covered Social Life and Potential Careers. First, their presentation has a uniform background throughout which makes the presentation feel consistent. The title slide is very pretty and the intros to each section look great. The images used in the presentation convey the information they are trying to sa...

Feedback on AI presentations by Jonathan Chirinos

This blog post will contain feedback regarding our presentations on AI and how they are affecting many topics associated with our lives.         Starting off with Group one, they had the topics of education and sports. Before hearing their presentation, I knew that some forms of technology/AI were already in play in sports and education. Examples of technology in sports included VAR in soccer, which is a form of technology that allows replays of the game to be played over and over again; this is helpful because it allowed referees to rewatch a certain play to see if it was a play that was allowed or not allowed. Going back to group 1's presentation, the first thing I liked about their presentation was their theme; their theme was robot/technology based and it was extremely appealing to my eyes. I also enjoyed how they included a mini character also, it made the presentation a lot more friendly and made the powerpoint more interesting rather ...

Presentation feedback (Alyssia Santiago)

This week's presentations were full of interesting information. I learn so much that I didn't know about Artificial Intelligence. When doing the research for economy and mental health involving AI for group 2, the group I'm in, I learned that the government is doing a lot involving AI. One of my group members talked about how the Biden Harris administration established a blueprint of AI Bill of Rights. This is going to help address issues in areas that AI will most affect. The impact AI has on the economy is predicted to take away 85 million jobs all around the world by 2025. It is also predicted to generate 97 million new jobs. Due to the growing AI industry, workers will now have to new skills to keep up with the advance technology. If you lack any of the required skills it would lead to job loss and ultimately le a d to an "AI takeover ". Artificial Intelligence is also contributing to mental healthcare. Another one of my group members explained how healthca...
