Reflection on Group Presentations (Leslie Iglesias)

Reflection on Group Presentations (Leslie Iglesias)

Group 1

When I first saw Group 1's Powerpoint presentation I was amazed by the theme. The slides were organized and coherent; the theme united the slides across each chapter. The group did a good job with the presentation of information in their slides: they didn't have paragraphs, instead choosing to deliver their information via bullet points. There was a lot of information but it was well-organized and digestible. Their slides were all very educational. I learned a lot from their presentation; the most memorable point was the differences between logos, ethos, and pathos, which is something I've struggled to understand until this presentation. Their speeches conveyed the information concisely, but they would also expand and clarify any unclear points written in the slides. They appeared to be very organized and confident.

Group 2

Since I'm part of Group 2, I may be biased but I believe we did a good job. Although our Powerpoint presentation did not share one theme across the slides, each member of the group was able to get creative and design their slides how they wished to; this brought out the individuality of our presentation. I chose to do half of chapter 6, and I learned a lot as I created my part of the presentation. I learned about the different types of organizational patterns — such as problem-solution and Monroe's motivated sequence — and when to use them, as well as how to introduce and conclude a presentation. I also learned from the other members tips on effectively delivering a speech. In our presentation there were many visual aids that provided further information on the subject.

Group 3

Much like Group 1, I appreciated Group 3's use of a single theme and their slides with bulleted, concise information; it made their presentation easy to read and understand. Their speeches were very informative, further explaining the points presented in their slides. Although they had the misfortune of being split up into separate days because of time, their presentation still flowed nicely and was very comprehensive of their assigned chapters. Overall, their presentation was very well-executed and educational.

Group Leaders

The group leaders did a good job with their introductions and conclusions. They communicated and worked well with the groups, and although there was confusion about who had to write the intros and outros, they made sure the problem was resolved. Their introduction and conclusion were a great addition to our presentation.
